A slapdash, unplanned reenactment of American Psycho. We used a cheap 126-LED lightpanel, 2.8 lenses (Tokina and Tamron), a 7" LCD for monitoring and a Zoom H4N to record sound.

It's not great at all, we shot and starred in it, so it was hard enough making sure we were both in frame... Also our equipment started dying bit by bit from low batteries, so it turned into a race against time! I tried to color grade it, but with the low lighting it didn't come out brilliantly.

Nonetheless, I present it here for your disapproval!

it was cool that you did not just copy/paste a scene from the movie.

[i'll pretend to give you my disapproval.]

the dialogue was not bad, lighting was a different scenario.

where do you think the really strong focused light came from in the scene, it was not even there at the start in the first shot.

when the camera angle shifted, the light changed in the same scene, how about a bit of consistency.

and what's up with the inverted false color on the business dude.

We just didn't have enough lights available to us to keep things consistent, without making the angles extremely boring - but of course you're right.

The problems with those low shots just came from being forced to grade very poorly lit shots.

pretty decent all things considered.

Was the audio done in post? Or at the scene? Did you have the h4n seperate and sync the sound? Or was it connected to camera?

What type of dead cat?

What sound levels was the h4n set to ?

Thank you.

The H4N was used separately and synced, all recorded at the scene.

Standard dead cat (from ebay), with the levels around 80.
