Firmware Update Comments 2.0 (or is it 3.0?)

Let's try this again......(just to keep the page count down to just the facts) ;-)

Since the firmware update will be coming out tomorrow, I thought I'd make a post and try to keep issues, anomolies, workarounds in one new place. I would like to get both the good and the bad, plus how you overcome the bad (if there is any?) I personally am very interested in the 4, 8 x enhanced focus, PP saving/naming and also performance with the LA-ea2 adapter/ a mount lens' combo but others may find some of the other features exciting.

Soooo.
1) any installation problems? (did it go as planned? was it as easy as they said? Did it blow away your special PP3 back to the stock PP profiles?)

2) LA-EA2 problems? (Does the a mount glass work correctly? AF? iris? etc)

3) Can you name your PPs? (I really want to be able to name them in the menu..... (5DmII, outside Hi lite, etc.... NOT PP1, PP2 etc) Although I hear this isn't going to happen :-(

4) Can you pick which features you want installed? (I don't personally need PAL stuff, can I update without installing certain features?)

5) Any anomolies? (when you pull the battery or format the SD card, did something go away? etc)

Just a place to keep all the info in the same area..... Maybe even a sticky?
Thoughts?

update avialable here (around April 19th or so...)
FS100 Software Update here

1. Yes, The software didn't connect to my camera and I had several attempts to get it going (OSX 10.7.3). The hit reset button instruction is confusing. PPs set to factory presets.

3. No. You can save Camera Profiles to SD Card which copies the state of the camera and all 6 PPs to a file. Has creation date in filename.

4. No. The whole world seems to have the same firmware.

5. None found to date.

Not noticing any difference in gammas but

5a. When changing from 25/50p to 24/30/60p SD Card needs to be reformatted. Bizarre!

I quite like shooting off speed 30p played at 25p is great. Seems like I'll need a second a dedicated SD card.

FYI, to change from Gain to ISO readings, you first have to be in manual mode so the selection is not grayed out.

Good Lord, there was like pages and pages of speculation on the firmware upgrade, now that it's here….not much talk. I guess everyone is out shooting?

I left my AC power in New Jersey….have to wait to do the upgrade. Is it nice?

Agreed.

Yes it is a nice thing to have in the camera.

FYI, when in the middle of the install it says to click on the Windows "safely remove hardware" icon, to momentarily disconnect the camera from the computer before the next step, there was nothing under that ICON regarding the camera to disconnect. I just hit next and proceeded.
