Firmware/Software Update for HPX300 Available

I can. My dayrate starts at $900.00 for 10 hours of shooting people walking around and of course camera flashes.

go into a dealer showroom put one on your shoulder and try it. I shoot hand held all the time, long shots occasionally ( high shutter slow mo stuff ) and the camera is fine. I'll try and post something soon. I really think all the negative talk about this camera is getting ridiculous, it makes me wonder who is really behind it. For my money I chose this cam over the ex3 and I don't regret it for a second. Yes it is 1/3 inch cmos but for real world shooting I think you would be very surprised at how nice an image this camera produces. The only thing that REALLY pisses me off is that a month after buying it Panasonic Australia dropped the price by almost three thousand dollars. I feel really kind of ripped off and penalised for being an early buyer of this camera.

Yeah, thats pissing me off too! Bought the Cam in Germany as one of the first buyers with 4 16 GB Cards. Then surprisingly the E-Series-Cards were released AND the price for the Cam dropped.... AAArghh, so i payed almost 2000 Euros too much!

Dealers Dont stock in my area. they say Buy & Try...i dont have any choice but to request fella owners who may be willing enough to help expect for MONEY MINDED jerks like guidedbygbv :(

I am more concerned about its FBC performance on moving human subjects in flashing lights ... all the more after Jan's comments.

The only time the FBC is activated is when there is a flash, so normal video with panning and zooming wouldn't be affected. If you have something that is moving at a fast speed, and there are flashes at the same time you may see a judder in the motion due to how the system works. But this is only when there are flashes, if no flash it would record normally.

Thanks,

Jan

This is what i want as a simple test :::

Can any one try this out : May be see the real world shoot with this ::: Hope it gives results as claimed by Panasonic

can anyone post atheir test resutls of in belowmentioned test conditions

- HPX300 shooting on shoulder (not on tripod) apparently with the slight shake involved & on moving subjects like human being posing for photographer ... unlike the stationary subjects like tables/statues etc as shown in varied examples
- zooming in or out while shooting with FBC ON
- multiple flash fires to actually see how would this CMOS camera stand against all such situations for a event shooter

what i saw on samples make me feel that when the FBC in ON it will work best for stationary objects & when camera is tripod mounted.

Many thx in advance.

Was just going to bite the bullet as we have a few days between shoots to 'risk' this firmware update the but its all dead links to the download now...

https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/cs/csregistp2m/soft/vsi5087a.zip

"There are no documents or No links".

Jan if you pickup on this can you check pls - have sent a mail to someone at Pana, but its a big site and may take some time to hit the right target!

D

You can't go to just the zip file, there are licensing questions you need to answer first. Go here https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/desk/e/download.htm

Go to UPDATE, select the HPX300.

Good luck,

Jan
