Firmware Downgrade?

I've done several searches for this topic (through this site and google) and haven't found anything so I apologize if this is a repeat.

My question is, can I downgrade back to the firmware that came originally with my GH1? I just checked and I have 1.1 for both body and lens. My intervalometer stopped working around the same time as I upgraded, and I want to test to see if this is why, or if I should send it back to Hong Kong for a replacement. If it is the firmware, I'd gladly go back to 1.0 and lose 1/2 shutter speeds in order to use the intervalometer again.

Thanks for any information guys, I've seen that this question was asked in the firmware update thread but there was no reply that I could find.

Actually, I have the same question, since I have two aftermarket batteries that won't work with the new firmware.

u cant go backwards - well there is no published way - panny have done this on purpose to stop a work around with the 3rd party batteries - they are clever them panny boiz :)

-Which wouldn't be so bad if they made the best batteries in the world. But they don't. I've always been happier with my aftermarket batteries than with Panasonic ones.

wait! before you update to 1.2 there's a 1.2 update that allows 3rd party batteries that panasonic messed up on. give me a sec and i'll send you the firmware that allows 3rd party batteries. howerver i do not know if it will work with your intervalometer.

edit: alright here it is. this is the v1.2 that allows 3rd party batteries.
i'm keeping it up for a few days.

i updated mine with that 1.2 that allows for 3rd party bats a couple days ago. I just hope it doesn't mess up that hong kong intervalometer that everyone is using. can someone confirm if it still works?

Pc only............ I thought everyone had a Mac already :dankk2:

thanks, i updated with that link, worked great, but my intervalometer still doesn't work.

so is anybody out there using a JJC intervalometer with an updated firmware on their GH1?

I've only taken a couple of test shots, but yes I have the initial release of the 1.2 firmware that allows 3rd party batteries and I have used a jjc invervalometer. Seems to work?

Is the invervalometer definitely plugged in properly? Sometimes it feels like it's in, but if you push it it clicks in properly.

Wow after seeing these posts I just realized that they came out with a new firmware for the kit lens... last year. It really did help with the auto focusing keeping it from rocking back and forth than it used to.

then i definitely will need to return my intervalometer, brutal. oh well, not like i'm doing much with it the way it is! thanks for the feed back everyone.
