firmware 1.3 is out

Here is a tweet from Peter Crithary at Sony from an hour ago: "v1.31 firmware will be available (in USA) after we are done final testing Q/A". What does that say about the Canadian version I put on my camera three days ago?

I wouldn't worry. I've been running the version on the Cdn site with no ill effects. Worst case scenario is that they do discover a bug and release an updated version. It's as simple as just downloading another update. But the updates are developed by Sony engineers. Each respective operating unit of Sony is semi-autonomous in its web postings. That means that Sony Canada deemed it ready to post. I for one am glad that the Sony USA team wants to take another look at it.

Exactly the same, build 1931.
They've just taken out the foreign pdf's and simplified the 'readme' file from the download.

Oh man... glad you said this about the blank Screen..... I thought i bricked my f3..... hah!

Simple question that I don't have the answer. When using S-Log, when do you use 1.5G YPbPr244 & S-Log instead of 3G YPbPr422 & S-Log? I am going to a PIX240 via the HDSDI A out. So I'm asking the difference between the 1.5G and 3G S-Log output when going 422 out the PIX240?

You use the 3G when going to a 3G device. Since the Pix240 is a standard-speed 1.5g device, just select 1.5 YPbPr422 & S-Log.
