Firewire

I've got pretty much all my equipment except for my firewire.

But I don't know what kind to get.

I have a DVX-100b. What type should I get?

No really good way to answer this question with so little information.

What make/model of computer are you using? What software?

I'm assuming that you're on a PC platform, since you're having to buy a Firewire card?

Thanks but that doesn't exactly tell me what type I need.

If I'm using a DVX-100b, with a 2005 Compaq Presario, and editing on Adobe Premiere what type would be right type to buy?

Why not contact granitedigital.com and ask them?

We know the DVX uses a 4 pin firewire cable to connect.

Does your Compaq have any firewire ports?

If not, tell the granitedigital.com when you call them the brand of your computer and tech specs, and explain your needs.

It's really simple: the DVX has a 4 pin firewire port, your PC has either a 6 pin or a 4 pin FW port. Buy the version that matches. If the comp doesn't have an FW port, you need to buy a firewire card for it. Any brand is fine; you'll see brand like Monster that triple and quanruple the price claiming theirs is "special" and you get a better image quality. It's BS.

Thanks Huy Vu, you really cleared things up for me.

I like your demo reel, you got talent.

Wish I had someone like you working on my movie.
