Firestore To External Drive To FCP6: How?

I recently shot several minutes of DVCPROHD 720 25P footage on HVX200 onto Firestore FS100. Then I copied these files from FS100 to a 500GB external drive on location, with the same folder structure, and returned the FS100 to the service provider. Now I am having trouble importing these files into FCP6 from my external drive. I had also shot some footage onto a P2 card and copied its contents into the same 500GB external drive. FCP6 is able to import these P2 files without any trouble. How do I get my FCP6 to detect and import my footage originally shot onto FS100 but now residing on my 500GB external drive?

I found one solution if there is a better solution (THAT CAN SAVE TIME AND MONEY) please tell me. (This process is taking lot of time. I have about 400GB of data and the FS100 hard disc is hired for this purpose)
I copied the files back to FS100.
Connected FS100 to FCP
Used the log and transfer menu to get the footage.
It worked fine.

You should be able to import off of a copied-to-external-drive copy. Just make absolutely sure you run the "organize P2" function on the Firestore first.

Thanks, IT WORKS. In 2 to 3 hours we will start editing our footage. (I will post some images soon) I run in to this problem because of my over confidence. I did my test with P2 and didn't face any problem. While shooting i didn't get P2 cards and was forced to use FS100. There was no time to cross check the work flow with FS100 and I was new to it. While copying on location we didn't do "Organize P2" function.

Yeah, you need to Organize For P2.

I always copy the FS contents to my HDD for back-up, but I still prefer doing "Log and Transfer" in FCP with the FS-100 still attached.

I've found that if I do "Log and Transfer" with the files I've copied from the FS-100, FCP doesn't span any of the clips, and it doesn't automatically remove Advanced Pulldown either.
