Firestore to Avid Media Composer Workflow

I just switched from Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 to Avid Media Composer (MC) 2.7.

How do I import the footage into MC from my firestore. I understand that I can import the mxf files and edit instantly. This is what I have tried to do but cannot seem to get it to work.

  1. Copy Video and audio files into the Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 root folder directory from the VIDEO and AUDIO folder on the FS-100.
  2. launch Avid MC
  3. Open Media Manager
  4. Select drive and project
Supposedly after that, all the media should appear in the media manager window but no luck.

What am I doing wrong? How do I need to do this? Thanks in advance.

What was the problem, and what solved it? I'm working on Avid Xpress 5.7 with a fs-100 and am working out my workflow. I thought that with Avid's x.7 of xpress & media composer there was a simpler method than the copy media manually method (and locate with the media tool).
