firestore imports only partly to AVID

This is strange.
Firestore mxf's are copied to proper folders, when we try to link to them using media tool in avid which searches out orphans, only some of the files show up.
This is on a pc. on a MAC different files show up? but many are still missing. Okay and to make it even more a mystery; Some of the files that were succesfully imported days ago, when clicked on, open up to reveal a completely unrelated bit of video. When we reveal file, the shot seems to link to a different file. This is driving me crazy.

Have you tried using P2 Viewer and creating a Virtual P2 Card for the location that the files are in? It would show you which files are incomplete or damaged.

If something is missing, there is obviously not much you can do about it. If a file is damaged, you could try P2 Log, it has a reputation for handling files that other tools won't.
 
P2 log does open the files... I am now exporting to FCP, and re exporting as DVCproHD, which I then import back into Avid. It is working.. but a lot of hassle.
The files I generated out of P2 log won't import into avid.
thanks for advice... Does p2 viewer convert files?
 
No, P2 Viewer doesn't convert files, I wanted you to try that to get a second opinion on the status of your files, in case AVID was confused.
