With the FireStore FS-4 can you record 24P and import that footage into final cut?

-thanks

No the FS-4 cannot record Canon 24F or 30F. It will only record 1080i60. You will need to look into the FSC-60 or FSC-100. They are made specifically for the Canon cameras.

I don´t think that´s entirely correct, at least not if we are talking about the FS-4HD version. In my experience you can record 24F but the Firestore will not be able to convert the files to quicktime on the fly. So you could record the m2t files but would need to convert them since FCP can´t handle them. I work in Vegas so that´s a none issue for me. So far I only tested it once with my A1 and my Firestore FS-4 HD and had no problems.

I hope you're correct in saying that the Firestore FS-4HD will be able to record 24f, even if only in .m2t files. Clipwrap has eliminated the issue of converting to QT files, if you have a fast enough computer. I prefer this over spending the several hundred more (at least here in Canada) for the FSC drive.

Can anyone else confirm this as well?

I just purchased an FS-4 HD second hand. It will record 24f as .m2t files, and I use ClipWrap to transfer them.

It will only do quicktime files at 1080i60

Eh, that's fine. I don't mind transferring them with ClipWrap. I'm getting to the point where I'm tired of waiting for Canon's product, much like Taylor and need a tapeless solution, SOON. I wonder if I buy the FS-4 HD, will I need to do an upgrade to be able to shoot 24f as .m2t files? What about 30f? I use that quite a bit for weddings. Is that a compatible format Taylor?

Thanks,

Kegan
