I'm relatively new to the HVX and have been attempting to shoot some test footage to get used to the cam and the firestore. I've been trying to shoot various frame rates and formats for import into Media Composer. My problem is that the Firestore keeps defaulting back to DVCPRO HD after I've switched it to DVCPro50 and DVCPRO . Has this happened to anyone? Any suggestions?

As THoff said, it'll be dependent on what mode the camera is set to. You cannot set the HVX for high-def, and the FS-100 for standard-def, and expect it to work. There's no cross-conversion possible; it can only record what the camera is sending it.
