where can you find actors and actresses for short films/random videos?

I live near a big college so maybe put posters up in the student center/food court? any sites for finding local actors?

thanks

I'm not sure what state you're in but try craigslist, actors access, backstage casting, lacasting

Beware of craigslist, but don't be afraid to give it a shot.

why beware of cl? btw, just checked out your kickstarter, congrats on getting your film funded bro

btw, how the hell are you able to own not one, but TWO red cameras? lol, please tell me so I can be a baller like you guys

local drama college?

fundamentally you need to incentivise people

actors want reels

scrambling bike riders love showing themselves doing big jumps on youtube to their mates

business owners love a little promo

etc

structure you material so the material becomes mutually beneficial to both paties

if you promise something - like clips for a reel - deliver it

Once you are getting paid dont insult people by getting them to work for free

CL is hit and miss for me. Usually miss. BUT I do have enough 18-24 year olds to work with thanks to CL. For the most people, that's about the age range that will reply. Then again, I posted as no pay, working for food and credit. You may have money. I do not.

I go to plays around town and when I see someone who gives a performance that I really like, I get in touch with them through the production company and ask them to audition.

yeah, I have no money right now either. I'm just looking to practice my film making skillzzzz with amateur actors

I just registered for actorsaccess but I think I registered as an actor. Can't find out how to browse for actors in my area, anyone else here that already uses that site that can tell me what I did wrong/where to go to browse local actors?

I think your best bet would be to post flyers around colleges, getting somehow involved with that. Also I'd suggest posting flyers around indie music venues and coffee shops, places where the young artistic crowd flock. I think the usual point is that many folk seem to think that acting is quite nerdy nowadays (unless MTV comes and says they'll be seen across America) so it's still important to find people who are both confident, attractive, and a bit serious about it - always make sure to make any flyers look very professional yet appealing.
