FEATURE: Finding Me

Best of luck! I know how hard it is to make a $10K feature. And to not lower your standards in the process... almost impossible - the need to compromise is so intense, it's virtually impossible not to succumb to. I admire anyone who can pull it off and come out of it with a good product. So my heartfelt good wishes!

And I'm taking this part from your first post as my motto: it's been a blast, though tedious

Love it! There are so many uses for it in all sorts of contexts "the party was a tedious blast"; "you're really a blast to be around, though tedious"; and I can't think of a more apt description of the process of movie-making, than "a tedious blast". I salute you!

Giselle is currently cast in another Saba/Whitmer short film extravaganza titled ‘A Kiss Between Friends’, scheduled to shoot who knows when.

I know when! We're casting now and planning on end of September for the shoot...

Best of luck on this one, it reads well.

All work and no play makes Alex a very dull boy. :)

MAN... you have been busy! This is looking like a great cast.
Not an easy task....as casting can be like herding cats at times.

Whoa, awesome story board! Mine are stick figures and doodles at best.

Have you got a kickstarter or such for this? Is this a personal project?

Cool. You deserve to get this project across the line. Your selection of actors look good together and I know the script will be good. If I was over there I'd definitely offer to help out and make my gear available so I'll have to settle for making a small financial contribution.

Well, there's one thing to think about - I'm sure you already know this, but some may find this of use - so call it a "reminder". Reminder: how good an actor is, is often secondary to how they gel with other actors in a project.

When you are selecting your final cast, callbacks should happen with all actors present, so you can test the chemistry. I know I've been surprised. It happens not so infrequently, that you initially like one actor, but the second choice suddenly lights up when playing in a scene with others - in a kind of "the whole is bigger than the parts".

So, this can be another way of a criterion when casting among many fine choices. Maybe Mary is a better actress than Jane, but when playing the key love interest of Dave, it's with Jane that the sparks fly. Cast for the WHOLE movie, not just individual parts.

Anyhow, I'm sure you know all this - just a "reminder".

Congratulations. This is all going too smoothly. Don't want to jinx you but doesn't that worry you a little? :)

You've got an eye for casting, I can see these people in a film together. Mackenzy and Alyssa look ready to dish out some hardcore teasing in the photo a couple of posts up!

Damn that sux man. I just wanted to let you know (before you last posted) that I do follow your thread so you are not posting in vain. I really do hope you are able to find a new crew cause I am very interested in seeing your finished product. I would hate to see you hit with another setback after getting this far. Good luck.

Ouch...! I'm so sorry. And you are right - it is against the laws of nature for a production to go smoothly... I know the pain, believe me - I've had the same production delayed 4 times now, for all sorts of reasons, all very dramatic and unexpected. But... I'm not giving up - in fact, when things are going smoothly, I become suspicious: this is toooooo easy... wonder what disaster is lurking just around the corner?!

Best of luck, man, crossing my fingers and toes things work out for you... as long as you can keep the cast together, if you find a director fast enough, you should be OK. Best of luck!!!

Looks like it's not live yet. Still putting it together or oversight?
