OK I know it took a long time but I went through many versions and finally settled on a completely new design concept.

It is based on a rail of anodized aluminum that will fit any camera. And all sorts of components fit on it. It is much smaller than a 15 mm rail system, but will work with that as well. Although I will be making FF and matte box solutions that mount on this low profile rail, it is extendable back and forward.

OK here a couple photos:

You can see and read more about the kit here: http://www.westsideav.com/SlideBracketKit/

I have the first batch back from the anodizer, so I will be shipping next week.

We are working on putting these on our web site.

I will be offering a 20% discount to previous customers. And will offer a 10% discount to all members of this board for March and April orders.

I will be adding many new parts to this kit. And I am open to any suggestions.

I want to thank many of you for your input on this board and by Skype and phone. I have tried to make this the most comfortable and light system I can. It is quite different from my early versions some of wood as some of you may remember. The shoulder pad is made from a nylon plastic (anti static Tivar) and the soft foam is 3/4" thick 3" wide and 4 1/2" long and shaped to a shoulder, based on the old BetaCam pads. And it ends up right under the camera if you use an EVF or a Hoodloop.

Let me know what you think.

I was hoping for rods in the rear as well as the front.

Yes Brian, rods can be placed in the rear as well with the same adapter as is used in the front, so you can use any parts you already have.

Part of the nice thing about this system is the adaptability to other vendors as well as my legacy parts.

And if you like this solution better than traditional rods then I have a lighter stiffer and less expensive solution to FF, Matte Boxes and battery plates.

Wouldn't be hard to do... just get the rail, shoulder pad, etc., and get two of the rail-to-15mm blocks (one front, one rear). Put in your preferred length and yay you.

The kit Looks really impressive .

As a side note I have one of the westsideav av handgrips which I use all the time but as I found out in the last few weeks is a TSA SECURITY magnet. Last Sunday I was subjected to a few screenings by TSA at JFK. They see the outline of the wood hand grip with the switch inside and the coily cable attached. I got thru security aft some delays but one of the agents whispered to me that the handgrip " really doesn't look good" to them on the scanner . So be fore warned that the handgrip might have to go in checked baggage instead of your carry on bag.
