Woke up at 0400, finally took my pants off in a hotel in Killeen 24 hours later.

Never doin' that again. Here I be and here I stay.

Killeen: 150 mi south of Dallas, 50 mi north of Austin. More or less. Central Texas, all things considered.

Ooooo. "Miles". SO nice. Feet and inches and quarts and gallons and degrees fahrenheit... And my shoes will once again 9 1/2 instead of 43.

Of course, my wife is going from a 90 to a 38, so that doesn't sound as nice... Then again, she's all pissed off beause the baby has already made her go from a C to a D. No satisfying some people... :)

My parents live in Wimberley (just outside of Austin). Next time I'm in the area we'll have to have a Texas DVXusers meeting.

Oh, ok.

March 1985: went to Berlin with the Army

March 1990: out of the Army, moved to Hollywood

November 1990: discovered that the folks in Hollywood were still idiots, despite me giving them 11 years to get their heads out of their butts since the last time I lived there, so re-joined the Army and went to Frederick MD.

August 1992: went to Landstuhl Germany with the Army

September 1995: out of the Army, stayed in Landstuhl working as a DA civilian

March 1997: moved to Ramstein Germany (still working for the Army, just a new job)

Now: still working for the Army, in Fort Hood (Killeen TX).

So that's what? 20 years in Germany, all told?

Long enough. Endlich, fertig, weg.

Probably. Can't remember the correct spelling, although I realize I forgot to capitalize the word since it's a noun. Jungenherberge (or somesuch) should be "youth hostel." Maybe I should just stick with "Wo ist die viele Bie\er?" Although I'm probably getting the gender of the noun wrong. Stupid passage of time rendering my brain dumb. Criminey, it's been 20 years since I had German 2.
 
Was just being filmy. "Hostel", set in Slovakia. Etc.

And I think it's usually "jugendherberge" these days. Too many people thinking the other variation was just for boys.

But I was 28 when I first got there, so hostels of any sort weren't an issue. :)
