Alright, so its getting close to NAB and I have still got an unopened box of FCS2 sitting on my desk that i ordered with my brand new mac pro... Now i know Apple isn't going to NAB but what's the consensus here, will they unveil FCS3 next week? And if they do, what's it gonna mean for HMC users?

I'd be shocked if they didn't announce a new FCS this month. It's been 2 years since FCS2 came out.
 
Im shooting my first short very soon .. i bought express .. waiting on fcp 3

Im getting very close to needing this program but I have a feeling if I buy 2 this week they will release fcs3 next week


Do I wait or what?!?! Damn you Apple :(
 
sounds good I give it a month ..everyone was think NAB but it didnt happen maybe to focused on phones..i dunno

yea its old but didnt want to start a new one with the same subject
 
It's gonna be snow leapord -> fcs3

If you can deal with it, just use express for the extent of the wait for fcs3

I'm sure the jump in quality NLE will be huge haha.
 
They will probably release it early 2010 when they have another macbook revision which will be able to take full advantage of Snow Leopard.
 
I very much doubt that Apple will restrict FCS3 to SL.

I agree, but i think the way SL deals with Quicktime thru GPU and not just CPU will make a big improvement for Snow Leopard users... I read on a rumors page that there will also be cards specialized for FCS (the way Matrox does for Premier)
 
i was at the apple store yesterday and the place was a mad house .. i thought the new phone wasnt out till this friday?

The guy there told me snow leopard is suppose to be out in september and he thinks FCS 3 will come out same time or soon after
 
snow leopard comes in sept .. would it have made more sense for snow leopard to come out first then the new mac books instead of the other way around

For some reason I had it in my mind that he intended on buying FCS 3 lol. That's why I was like oh but now you got to buy another one in a few months. I'm an idiot.
 
Well If you buy FCS2 and 3 comes out soon, they have something called "Up to date program" where you would be able to pay a small shipping fee, send your FCS2 DVD Set and get FCS3 back... thats only if it's out soon!!!....

but for my understanding it's not fully optimized... and one of the upgrades in SL is that!
