Final Cut Pro workflow from XH-A1

Hi to all

Can you explain me the best workflow to import from Xh-A1 to Final Cut Pro 6.

Which is the best format to work on editing. How can you convert the imported footage?

This method works well for me http://library.creativecow.net/articles/poisson_chris/hdv-prores.php and the ProRes codec is very nice
