Final CUt Pro 5.1.2 Update Released

I have 5.0.4 now, Do I need to buy the 5.1 version for 49$ first? Then upgrade to 5.1.2?

Sweet.
As soon as I'm done with my HorrorFest project, I'm sending in my discs to get upgraded.

Ya, you should have 5.1.1 already when working with the HVX. I dont know when or if the crossgrade for 50 bucks has ended or will end, but be sure to do it soon!

Man, Please for the love of God, post some screen grabs. I have 5.0.4 as well. I dont have Any issues with using my HVX in FC, I shoot 1080/30p, 1080/60i, and 720p/pn. So I have not upgraded.. Do everyone a favor to push us to buy, post many screen grabs. The cross grade has been for maybe what 6 or 7 months at 49 bucks, and dont see it changing, until the new FC Studio comes out 2007 Q4 (guestimate)

Also Prox.: You do NEED the Universal 5.1, in order to upgrade.

Does the new compressor have any more options?

Yes, you need 5.1 in order to upgrade. The crossgrade upgrade it good until Dec. 20, 2006. It's on the crossgrade order form...

http://www.apple.com/universal/crossgrade/

It's very easy to do. You simply download the order form, fill it out, send in the 4 disks they ask for along with a check $49 + sales tax based on your zip code. Within about ten days to two weeks, you'll receive your new disks.

i dont have any P2 card data on me, but heres a grab of the P2 viewer thing in FCP 5.1.2 if you thats what you wanted to see.

apple is just amazing, the update took like 10 minutes for all 3 updates.

Downloaded it and ran all the updaters, and then trashed the plist and repaired permissions.

The modal import dialog box is fabulous.

When you "add selection to the queue" or "Add Clip to the Queue" it imports in the background as you continue to log and capture.

You can set in and out points and name the clips for the bin, including all the other data you see in the screen shot above.

Works fast to me on a MacPro.

Everything can be resized so you clip view on the upper right can be as large as your screen supports.

Don't have a way to link to a screen shot, but if someone sends me a way, I'll load it there.

Works fine on my Powerbook G4. Crashes my G5 at start up. This has been reported as well by users on 2-pop (which, as most know, David and I moderate) and I obviously got bitten by it as well. Also posted something on the Apple board since Jerry Hoffman and Tom Wolsky hang there... and some assorted Apple folks check it as well.

The PDF that you send in with your old discs states that cutoff is December 31, 2006.

Of course, they can yank that at any time.

Ned, does it crash at startup?

I'm running it on a MacPro and it runs perfectly fine.

Surprisingly, the download is different than the software update, unless things are consolidated.

Might want to do the download, rather than the update, or after updating, run the software update a second time.

Solution for crashing-- remove Avid codecs from Library->Quicktime

Sheesh... I didn't need that tonight. I missed tonight's episode of The Unit agonizing over this one. I hope wife DVR'd it.
