Final cut and Photoshop

Any reason that you're using .png? FCP can use .psd files without problem. Flatten the layers in PS and FCP will see it as a still image. Leave it in layers and FCP will open it as a new sequence with all the layers intact.

Now, you also need to be aware of resolution. And if the image is something that FCP really needs to render, it might be showing a blurry RT image.

But again, I'd just save it as a PhotoShop file.

Tip:

How are you viewing it?

Tip:

What pixel grid size and dpi was used?

What sequence setting in FCP?

Tip:

How does it look on your production monitor?

Tip:

What are your RT settings?

Tip:

What render controls/preferences are set and is the sequence fully rendered?

according to the FCP manual, PNG files are the "optimal" image file format.

always wondered why?!
