final cut 6 and the A1

Ok heres my question... I know that FCP you can capture straight to the computer with an HVX can you do this with the A1 as of yet or is it something there working on ??

I assume you mean capture live and recorder to Hard Disk.

I don't think FCP can... but this certainly can:

Yes, you can record HDV or DV straight to FCP's capture window via firewire, even while recording to tape.

Just use the appropriate Easy Setup (HDV, DV etc)
