Filter that actually DOES fix moire and anti-aliasing on the 5DmkII

That is pretty fantastic. I saw that the 7D was being worked on for one as well. Would that translate to the t2i since they have the same sensor size?

I'm still blown away by this.

Wow, that's great. Thanks for posting it here. It's hard to tell from the Vimeo video, but does it reduce sharpness at all? Or have any negative effect to the image besides the soft edges on the 24mm?

Wow.

Wow.

wow.

So this not only gets rid of aliasing and moire... it also increases the downsampled resolution?

I wonder what the measured resolution is with this filter installed. I wonder if it's better than before.

If they come out with one for my 60D, it's definitely something I'd look into. Though I'm pretty sure you'd have to remove it for taking photos, which could be a pain if you're in a situation doing both (happens on occasion).

This just expanded the lifespan of the 5Dii ! It just goes to show you how far enthusiasts can go to "soup-up" their gear.Well done!!

So few comments on something so awesome. What's the consensus?

I'm now glad we got an MKII again two weeks ago, and hoping to get one of these like now.

I'm getting one as soon as its available. The downloadable files I posted from their site speak for themselves.

Now I want a second 5d body.

These are some great times for cannon. I was leaning heavy towards the sony f100 but with this news I'm going to hold off. This camera is just a proven tool, and no matter what new cam comes out, the 5d always seem to reinvent itself or should I say someone else seems to reinvent it.. cannon has become to the indie community what panasonic was when they introduced the first dvx's. And this filter inventor could very well make his own history.

I looked at the resolution chart with AA filter, but I'm not sure how to read the chart. So the question is: is the resolution increased with the filter installed?

Seems to be about the same, but without the moire and aliasing. Honestly, that's more than we could ask for.

Does anyone know when they'll be widely available and also...how the heck do they work? :cheesy:

Black magic? :undecided
