Filming Vertically with HDSLR

How would I go about filming vertically with my 501HDV Bogen Manfrotto head? Can you guys recommend a bracket or elbow that can get the job done well?

A simple L-bracked from a home depot with 2 holes drilled in it and a 1/4" 20 screw works for me

Ooohh, I like this a lot! Thank you! Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side, but much more professional looking. I'm not sure that I'm willing to shell out almost 200 for it, but it's a step in the right direction, for either DIY or another less expensive product.

Why not just use a photo tripod head that flips vertically. Bogen makes several that you can find used very cheaply.

I'm just curious, but what would be the need to shoot that way? Especially if the smoothness of pans and tilts really mattered.

Yes, such as filming for a vertical display... such as the ipad... such as a video for a magazine for the ipad, such as an ad or a "moving-photo" of a model in clothing for the ipad.

It's a very intersting way, like this one below, though it's better to see it over Vimeo site :-) or on the actual "vertical" display.

I did this for a Green screen shoot I did. we shoot vertically to get more resolution.

I used a photo head, but it was just static shots...
