Filming Snowboarding

So i have been wondering this question for a while, and not quite sure what the answer is. Since the DVX's minimum temperature to operate is 32 degress F, and in the winter when will film snowboarding the temperature will be much below that, probally in the teens or lower. So how can i keep my camera warm? Is that a special case that i put it in and it will act as a thermal? Please help me, give me a link to a product and just give me tips! Thanks, HazZY.

get a rain cover for it and dont walk inside and outside with you camera because the mositure is a killer. I have filmed in minus 25C a bunch of times and my camera is fine.

Is there a way to keep it warm without spending money? A client wants to shoot a music video in December when it's snowing. I don't have any money to spend right now (hence shooting the video), But I need to keep it warm.

Any ideas?

I use to own a dvx and i filmed snowboarding with it for 2 years. temperature was not an issue. just be sure to leave it in your bag for awhile once you are done filming so the temperature change isn't to dramatic on it. i really wouldn't worry about it at all.

If you put it in a large airtight bag such as a big ziploc when you're outside, then bring it inside to warm up to the room temp still in the bag, no condensation will form.

Hey man I film snowboarding.

I have had my camera out in -10 degrees and she still worked. Sometimes the condensation can get bad (especially when bringing the camera inside from the cold.) Put the camera in your bag and unzip it slightly to allow the temperature change slowly. This reduces the risk of frying your camera from condensation.

You may get blue bars through your footage so have a head cleaner ready.

If it's dumping snow the poor man's rain cover is a shopping bag attached to the camera with rubber bands.

Have you tried those glove warmer packs? I don't know if they would work but I'm pretty sure I read something about that a while back in an issue of HD Video Pro.
