Filming from a wheelchair?

Is this generally a good or bad idea?

I'm planning on shooting a small music video and hoping to do something similar to this (ie filmer in wheelchair being pulled backwards while the singer is slowly walking towards the camera):

I'm shooting with a HPX170 with 35mm adapter. The whole set us is pretty heavy so I doubt a light steadycam wouldt do the job, and the better / bigger steadycams are more expensive / out of my budget.

Would anybody have feedback if this idea is going to work or best to avoid it? I tried to search for wheel chair footage but all I keep getting is people in wheelchairs...

Like anything, it takes planning and practice.

But as a concept for a film maker's tool... it worked for Stanley Kubrick in "The Shining".

Wheelchair idea is gold, almost all hotels, airports, and malls have wheelchairs. So finding a fast dolly is always in reach.
Planning is key, especially as the shot progresses.

I saw it used a while back, and have been waiting for an opportunity to give it a whirl.

I've done WC dolly shots, and still own a pretty good WC. They can be very effective and fast to set up. Since the camera is still, in most instances, hand held, it still takes a good deal of skill on the part of the camera operator to get the shot done well. Besides, having a WC on set is handy. It can be used as a cart in a pinch to move stuff around and makes a comfy place to sit between takes!

I did this on a music video, and it worked like a charm. So have fun :) also check out Der Untergang... they used a wc a lot in that.
