I have some amazing architecture, interior and exterior, that I need to capture. I have the XH A1 and I have a fluid tripod. I also have the wide angle lens. Can you guys provide some tips on how to shoot compelling and interesting footage of the architecture?
like anything, research your topic. even a quick study of architecture basics will point you in a direction of what you can reveal visually. and for the average joe, the only thing that's going to make architecture interesting, is context. wrap it in a story.
What are you trying to convince the viewer? Is there a particular viewer? If you're showing architects, than you'd like to do as Zak said and know some basics. I'm sure a bunch of architects would get off plenty by seeing still video. If it's just your average, low-attention span person, keep the camera moving like they just stepped onto the property and are there themselves.
If you can find a copy take a look at the Maysles's film "Concert of Wills: Making the Getty Center". Remarkably ggod film about the building of the Getty Center in LA with plenty of story and good architecture shots.
