File size?

Hi guys, I'm trying to do a few sums for what I'm going to need storage wise, and I was wondering if anyone knew exactly the ratio of MB's per Minute when shooting in both 720p and 1080i on the HVX200? I would be shooting onto the Firestore if that makes any difference.

I know that you can get 111mins of 720/60p footage onto the FS100...so that works out to just barely over a 1min per GB. The ratio also varies if you are shooting 720p in the "native" modes

I am curious also...David, where did you get your numbers?

AJA Data Rate Calculator.

Also it stands to reason.

A 8 Gb p2 card will capture 20 minutes of 720/24pn. One hour then at this data rate would require three 8 Gb cards, or 24 Gbs.

And remember that not all of the 8 Gbs is filled up, because some space is taken for formatting. That's why a full 8 Gb p2 card will only transfer aboyut 7 GBs of data.

That link to the calculator doesn't have the format I'm shooting in; DVCPro HD 720p50 at 25fps. The closest is DVCPro HD 720p60 at 25fps but that's a little off. For a 20 second clip it was ten mb's off, for a 4 minute clip it was around 40mb off.
