File size question

Tomorrow I will be shooting our college senior design presentations, where I teach. It is one single project, but each student speaks for 5-8 minutes regarding their portion of the project. Total time is maybe 60 minutes, followed by a short break, then another 60 minutes.

Here's my question: I have two 16 GB cards (good for 90 min or so each in PH mode), so could shoot each 60 minutes onto it's own card, as a single clip. Would it be better, though, to start and stop each time the student speaker changes, so as to create multiple clips? I like the continuous flow two large of single clips, but am afraid of editing (or errors in) two huge files. I'll probably be editing these in Edius Neo Booster (but am truly new to this). Thanks.

The HMC-40/80/150 ... will put a break in the file whenever it reached 4 GB. This is a limit of a FAT32 file.

IF you have the Pre-Record function turned on, you can force a break in the file by using the record button. Assume the first student speaks and finishes, quickly press the record button to stop and then press it again to start. This finishes the current clip and starts a new clip. The Pre-Record will buffer up to 3 seconds, so that when you start the new clip, the lag between stop record/start record is still recorded.

Some users have reported a drop in a few frames between clips. The frames are there, but some conversion/editing systems drop a few frames. Thus you may want to do the pause/start record during the lag time between students where any dropped frames might not be noticed.
