File handling for SDHC-Cards?

Hi

I start shooting a short tomorrow with my T2i I received a week ago. How do you handle the SDHC cards? I have a card-reader and have heard that you have to copy the whole file structure including the misc-folder. So do you have to make a directory for every full card (example: sdcard_1, sdcard_2) and put the whole content in there? Probably will fill up two 16 GB cards tomorrow.

And do you have to do the same thing in Final Cut afterwards?

Cheers

If you run the T2i Log and transfer hack and do not want to do it from the actual card then you must keep file structure intact. Otherwise all you need is the ".MOV" files from the card. Set your camera to record file names in order the start and you will have no issues with keeping all the fils in the same folder. I used to keep all files in a folder labeled as to which card they came from, this helped me as I knew card 4 was from later in the day then card 1. Now I dump all into the same folder as it makes Compressor batches easier/quicker to get going and helps me assure all files have been transcoded.

The real question should be "Why did I but this camera I have had for a week, if I was not going to turn it on, use it, and test the workflow before using it on a shoot?"
