AC160 File format of AG-AC160...

Dear AC160 owners,

When I used the HVX200, it's MXF files. When I used the HMC150, it's MTS files.

So what is the file format for AC160? And you guys using what convertors besides FCP 7 and Premiere Pro?`

It is exactly the same as the HMC150, for all HD.

For standard def it uses .AVI files for DV.

Thanks for the answer. Need to clear my doubts regarding HD output:

1) When I used HD for recording, the final output is in DVD which is SD, will my video be not sharp?

2) In order for us achieve HD output, what are the equipment PC wise or prOgramme to be used?

1) authored properly, your DVD should be as sharp as a DVD can be.

2) any NLE can handle AVCHD footage.

Not to Hijack the thread, but---
I find when transcoding down to SD the footage looks worse than if I had shot it in SD. It loses too much definition. (my videos are 1.5 hours +. I have/use CS5 with Nano flash footage at 50Mbps)
It seems Hollywood has no problem transcoding down to SD without having a dramatic drop in quality --- why not I?????????? What do they have, that I don't?? Secret tweaks?

That's a question for the NLE forum.

Done properly an HD->DVD conversion can be extremely sharp.
