im looking for a decent field for my ac160 and a decent color correction monitor as well. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Yes, this would be good information to share. A monitor large enough and with enough resolution to help with precise HD focusing too. But still not too bulky and heavy to take into the field.

Anyone have a recommendation?

Would a monitor with 1024 x 600 Resolution be adequate to be a good focusing aide for HD recording??

The Marshall Electronics 6.5" Lightweight On-Camera Field Monitor appears to be highly rated by many users, and it offers[FONT=Arial, sans-serif] 1024 x 768 in a 4 x 3 format. It costs over $1,600, but seems to have a lot of great features.

What about the Manhattan LCD brand? Has anyone used any of their field monitors? They are a bit more affordable. Likewise the 7" Ikan. It is over $900 as well.

I was sold on Small HD with their first model, DP1. Now use a DP1, DP1x, and the DP6.

The DP1 series was sharp and great for focus and framing, but the DP6 does even better with the false color exposure option, focus peaking, and better controls. I recently got their HDMI splitter so I can mount a DP1 for framing, and the DP6 in either focus or exposure mode (tripod mounted event video).
DP6.... never go to a shoot without it, even used it to monitor a gopro 2 setup.

I edit with fcp6 and premier pro. what monitor is best for color correction that is below 2000.00 that is acceptable for feature projects. OR is there one. And any comments about the dreamcolor..
thanks

can someone please tell me what type of monitor you use for in post for color correction. im currently looking to purchase one for my ac160.
what features should i look for in a lcd monitor? under scan, blue gun ect.
looking to purchase asap $3000.00 budget

Thanks for the suggestion of the Small HD DP6 monitor...I just returned a pair of Ikan monitors to B&H that they recommended (and were way too low-res to use as a focusing assistant...going from the LCD of the 130 to the monitor made me think everything was out of focus as it was such a leap backwards in resolution).

I think I'm going to get one of the DP6 but wondering if you can help me with some 'real world' assistance in regards to the accessories. Do you find it best to put it in the 'hotshoe' or do you like it mounted another way - I'm most curious about the side arm they sell as an accessory - does anybody have experience with it? Does it mount well on a Sachtler FSB6?

Thanks Terry. I purchased two DP6s that are due to come in tomorrow and will hopefully get to play with one tomorrow night - and see how/where I want to mount it (that clamp looks like a better idea than other things I've been considering)
