Looking to buy an inexpensive field monitor for he C100, what are your recommendations? I would like to spend $500 or less. Does anyone have experience with Ikan? I know you get what you pay for, however at the moment this is a hobby and I cant afford the top of the line stuff.

Marshall makes battery plates for the LCD50 in many different flavors so youre not limited to AA batteries. You can choose the plate from B&H that fits your needs. The LCD50 were nice simple monitors that worked well if you can't spend the extra $200 or so all told for a 7" SmallHD AC7. I just sold my two LCD50s for about $250 each used FWIW...

I knew they had other battery plates but I didn't know they had a plate for the BP-9XX series batteries, might just have to pick one of those up. Thanks for the reminder!

Edit: In fact, just ordered one :D

tvlogic vfm-056wp. I use it for monitor and it also converts the HDMI to SDI internally to then feed an SDI client monitor.

Yeah that one is very popular, however the screen is 6bit dithered to 8bit.

TVlogic will announce an updated version which has a superior panel with 1080p resolution this November.

I am looking at buying a monitor to use with my C300. It would be primarily used for pulling focus and if the director chooses to watch. Not feeling happy to pay more than 1k USD. Convergent design seems to offer more functionality and may be of help. I have to make up my mind.
