How the heck do you install the new firmware on the 7D? I'm looking at the guide and I"m following it just like it says using EOS Utility. However, in the Set Up menu, I don't have the option to click on the firmware update and the only highlighted section is the Live View/Movie func. set. I'm on a Snow Leopard Mac. I do not own a CF card reader but I'll purchase one if I can't figure this out.

Maybe you have to set the camera to M mode

and the camera must be on.

I had the same problem at first. It was a long time ago and I can't exactly remember the correct combination, but I would suggest making your own notes once you get it right.

Buy a CF card reader, very cheap and it's still the best way to get footage off the camera.
