Feedback for the new guy?

Hi, I would really appreciate some feedback
I'm new to this forum, I really want to buy a XH A1. My computer is a Quad Core 3.24GHz processor, 4gb of 1066 ram. I'm using CS3 Production Premium.
I've read a lot of posts on the Premiere forum, and here about people having trouble editing HDV on Premiere CS3. Is it a problem?, I do a lot of work in After Effects, so if it is a problem I'll have to change my camera choice :(
So......if anyone using an XH A1 and CS3 can give me some feedback on their
"experience", workflow or ? I would greatly appreciate your time.
Thank you!................................dave

As I understand it, Premiere CS3 doesn't take advantage of multiple cores. You might try downloading the trial version of Vegas (which does take advantage of multiple cores) and see how it works for you.

The only issue is that Premiere doesn't handle Canon's 24F and 30F out of the box. However, you can dowload the setting files from Adobe (free) and that fixes the issue. I've used footage from my A1 in Premier CS3 and it works just fine.

Thanks for the quick reply,
Premiere doesn't use multi-processing , but After Effects does. My work flow is usually, capture in Premiere - edit - import to After Effects via dynamic link - edit - render out of After Effects, AVI, or Quicktime uncompressed - burn in Encore.
Thank you for the Adobe pre-set tip! , I downloaded the files, and unless someone posts some horror stories, it's XH A1 for me!

just watch out when capturing to your computer through premiere alot of the time the audio captures out of sync. otherwise the A1 is a perfect choice.
