F3: Feature Requests for Firmware Upgrade on the Sony PMW-F3

[Alpha Beta Omega]

F3 in its original shape is a turd but body armoured it is very good. Sony should've made the F3 this way from the beginning.

I would like to have a bunch of functions and improvements implemented but realistically it will never happen unless some third party find it worthwhile. Apart from higher fps this camera wont be ashamed regardless of what you want to do. My clients sure love what comes out of this camera.

Agreed! Sony should have made the F3 like this from the beginning. I did not own the F3 in its original form but purchased one with the ET armour installed. My affection for this custom camera package was immediate! Absolutely brilliantly crafted and purposeful. I've had my F3 for only two weeks but know that it will be with me for a long time. The image is wonderful.

I do think it would be quite easy for Sony to simply release the 444 rgb upgrade in a firmware update.

I dont know if anyone has spotted that the F3 is 'Discontinued' on the sony website.

It might be "discontinued" but it's recently been Resurrected

Yeah! Long live the F3. So glad to have one of these machines.

Anything that would detract from sales of the F5 is without likelihood of ever happening.

I love to shoot with my F3 but frankly I hate to haul it. I'm so torn about what to get next when the need is there. Nothing today can give me the same image and features and still be affordable.
