Hey everyone, Just wanted to share a movie trailer to a movie that I DP'd last summer that was filmed entirely on the Canon C70. Also, I filmed exclusively on canon EF lenses using canon's speedbooster. About 85% of the film was shot on the canon EF 35mm 2.0 IS lens and about 10% shot on the canon EF 50mm 1.8 MKII lens. Other lenses used were: canon 85mm 1.8, canon 40mm pancake lens, canon 24-105 mkii, and a couple of shots with the canon 17-40mm.

Oh and we actually filmed the movie in under 2 weeks!

Enjoy the "GOODBYE PETRUSHKA" trailer:

Looks great. Honestly!

(Amazing that you could make this look so good, when the 'experts' say the C70 without 8K RAW @ 960fps is unusable and on par with a webcam from 2004.)

who thinks the c70 is poor?
every film school, everyone in the alexa owners club evey cooke head everyone with too much of daddies, or government arts, money.

personally i think its lacking in DOF.. that would be the full frame look.

to some extent its the staging which is a little 'bi layered'

I think one can fall into these framings when the director does not give enough business to the actros hands.

Last time I checked, the R5C body was $1,000 less expensive than the C70. If your clients are requesting 8K or both stills and photos, I would think you should be able to pay it off fairly quickly. At the same time, I don’t know of a single reviewer, filmmaker, film school or government entity insisting consumers or filmmakers use an 8K camera, or any camera that is beyond our means. I never heard of an Alexa owner insisting that 8K was a must, either. I wasn’t aware that ARRI even manufactured an 8K camera, nor have I seen any reports that they plan on releasing one any time soon. In fact, no one ever said that anything less than 8K was unusable, to the best of my knowledge.

I’ve watched too many reviews by working professionals and never has anyone ever said the C70 was poor; quite the contrary, in fact.

I’m at a loss as to what “evey cooke head everyone with too much of daddies” means.

The quote was tongue in cheek “ 8k at 960p”

but there ate classes thet think that alexa cooke are almost needed

clearly this camera makes good enough pictures for the movie to stand or fall on the story
