FD to EF mount any good?

I've used PK and M42 to EOF EF mounts and they were fine, but i did have to remove old-school AF pins and aperture pins and the like from the lens. Google it, if it's ok for stills it'll be ok for vids i reckon.

Distance is different to the sensor .You wont be able to focus on infinity without glass in adapter. But if you buy adapter with glass then your footage will be like with soap filter, try to google eos to FD dapter photos to see it, you would get sharpness on lower f stops like f 8/f11 .

I have a Bauer FD to EOS with glass in it. The image looks like vaseline spread on the lens. It might be a useful look if you are shooting a faux 1940's glamour spread, or to get that old diffused look that they used on Starlets back in the day. DPs like Joseph Walker pioneered the look.

Ok, thanks a lot for the replies guys. Sounds like a bit of a can of worms!

I'll start saving for some more EF lenses.

I bought an FD-to-EOS adapter off of Ebay that claims to have Hoya glass in it. Honestly, it looks good to me. Not blurry at all. I haven't done extreme pixel peeping with my videos/pics, but it looks passable to me and a pro photographer friend agreed.

I have it on a Canon 55mm f1.2 FD lens right now. If I remember, I'll post a pic or two later today.

I'd say around F2.8...maybe F2 depending on the scene/lighting conditions/what I think I can get away with.

That picture I posted was at F4 at ISO400 under a single 16-watt light. I couldn't pull that off in actual video mode, but I'm still happy that the FD adapter is not total crap.
