fd mount alternative to the Panasonic 14-140mm?

Hello,
I am about to order a GH2, and have a great set of FD mount lenses, so I am trying to decide weather to just get the body ( I have a G1 and the 14-42mm) or get it with the 14-140mm Is there an FD mount zoom that is usable for video that is similar in zoom range to the 14-140mm? E.x 28-55mm fd. I know a 28-55mm exists but I believe the zoom is unsuitable for video. correct me if I am wrong.
My current lenses
Panasonic 14-42mm *oops I had this as 14-140*
Canon 50mm 1.4
Canon 50mm 1.8
Canon 28mm 2.8
vivitar 135mm 2.8
85-300mm 5
What do you think? I really like the look of the old cannon glass and since I will be mainly shooting on that, it would be nice to have a zoom that falls into that range to help round out my kit.

I'm totally on board with the canon glass. It's just nice.

I had the same desire and ended picking up the Canon 35-100 (3.5) zoom.

I'm about to try it out tomorrow but my initial tests say it's pretty sweet.

I find the 14-140 is useful for more running and gunning situations where you trade off convenience and range for the qualities of Canon glass that you like.

If you're only shooting stuff where you're setting up the shots, I would stick with just the Canon.

Cheers,
Josh

35-105 3.5 is nice, but it's focus ring throw is short, which makes pulling focus difficult. Add 20-35 3.5L and 80-200L - both are good, but still it's three lenses and not one...
Personally, I don't like the look of Panny 14-140 and I'd rather have 10 fd primes and swap them every shot, but it's all personal and depends on application.

Since when is Pentax equipped with FD mount, Vitaliy? Jitup was asking for FD alternative... I've shot a lot with FD 35-105 and it's pretty decent. I wonder what's wrong with this lens in your opinion.

This is lenses suitable for GH cameras.
Any adapter is very cheap now, so looking for FD only is not necessary. Especially considering progress in zoom.
As for FD 35-105mm. I just recommended better lens, and Pentax lens is superior in any aspect.

In lesser panic i used 17 aps-c glass yesterday for a wide shot, decent, but not the results i wanted... so to answer your question, no, there is no vintage alternatives to wide angle for m4/3... unless you look into a non-fisheye superwide mini lens that you can use GH2 sensor crop on (although, these got expensive overnight due to "someone" posting a BIG LETTER thread about it in here).

I'm still waiting for my 14-42 panny, 100 gbp on ebay, a no brainer if you ask me (unless you want that extra range, but then here's were the infinate number of primes comes in, doesn't it?)

I guess you can still pick up some cool zooms if planning on going FF in the future though. Would be nice with a reverse crop that made the sensor larger, sometimes...

adapters are cheap, I would prefer fd mount glass, but it is not really an issue. I love vintage glass, and the price point as well :) also I am interested in the Pentax and the tameron, what mount is the tameron? I only found new ones for EOS mount, I need an apature ring. I can't find any footage from these lenses, would some one be willing to throw a quick one up going through the zoom range and also testing out infinity focus? This would be sort of a general purpose lens, for when I do not have time to switch between primes and such and just can't miss the shot. The purpose for this lens would be for when I am hiking or backpacking. It would also be used to capture wildlife. As far as an absolute run and gun gose I have the 14-42mm. I am a lens geek, and have a bunch of obscure lenses, but I have only really been happy with the stuff listed above for video. I have not tried other large brand mounts like Pentax or Nikon yst tho, and I know I will not add just one lens, but just one for now :) Can't go too hog wild, I need to get financed for about 2 grand to put together a GH2 rig with follow focus, matte box and rail system. More if I get a kit lens. Trying to save a few bucks because I will most likely open a credit card to pay for this, but I do not want to sacrifice quality. Unless some one wants to buy a HVX200 or a G1 :) I probably should not have put fd mount in the post, long as an adapter is cheap and the lens is a reasonable price. open to 16mm (like 16mm film not 16mm lens) if there are any that will do the job, look good when cut with footage shot on my other lenses, and are affordable. Thanks

Tamron 17-250mm :-)
If you need perfect glass - Pentax A 35-105mm F3.5
Both not FD :-)

Good to know, thanks.

I tried out the 35-105mm today and I still like the look of it. I didn't have any problems with the throw being too short, BUT it does zoom in and out noticeably when you pull focus which could problematic.

With the Pentax, do you have any issues with there being a zoom during focus pull? (I don't know if there is specific name for this effect.)

Thanks,
J. Raph

PS to Martin:
Tell me more about this super-wide mini lens!
