FD lenses + FD to EOS adapter to 7D question :)

Hello everyone, I'm in the market for some prime lenses for my 7d, currently looking to build an FD kit starting with a 50mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.8. My only concern is, will sharpness and color suffer when I attach the FD to EOS adapter?

Is anyone using FD lenses on the 7d? if so, what adapter would you recommend?

I'd really appreciate your input

FD prime glass is nice - good optical quality, well built, long focus ring throw and proper rotation direction BUT .... NOT for 7d. You won't get infinity focus, unless you use optical adapter, which degrades quality.

Thanks for your response trez! I was afraid about that... do Nikon lenses have this problem as well?

No such problem with Nikon lenses. Infinity focus is just fine and there's no glass in the adapter. No automatic aperture/focus confirmation, but you won't need it anyway.

I have read that the pin near the back element on some old Nikon manual lenses could damage the mirror on the 7D, is this the case for AI or non AI lenses?
