FCP X and Native 24p

Seems like having native checked adds some instability. If FCPX has done away with transcoding, are we free to use a maybe more stable non-native patch? i'm no pro, so I may be assuming all sorts of wrongnesses, but I thought I'd throw this out there. Thanks!

The stability of the patch refers to the stability of the camera while recording, not the final file's integrity. If the camera fails while recording, the file normally ends up empty. If there is no failure, the file is perfectly fine. Therefore the stability of the patch doesn't affect the files except when files end up empty.

That's what I mean, though. if I can turn off 24p native because FCPX has done away with transcoding, then there will be less chance of the camera failing whilst recording...?
