I recently decided to get a Mac book pro to replace my Imac, to go portable. I had upgraded FCP in the Imac to 5.14. To sell the Imac I wiped the HD clean. I installed
FCP in the MBP, then went online to upgrade from 5.1 to 5.14. Guess what? No longer available from Apple (at least according to a couple of postings I ran across on Google).
Called Apple and their response was, "the upgrade system is broken" (exact words).
When asked when it will be fixed, "we don't have a timeframe for that". So now what?
5.1 has no preview screen when "importing" P2 clips and I really use that feature.
Is the file available on a mirror site somewhere? Anyone still have it? It's just 38mb.
And no, I don't want to spend $500 on the newest version at this time.
