FCP Showing 60p as 29.97

I'm just starting to mess with a lot of this stuff, learning, Idk if this is an issue or just something stupid I'm doing, but when I shoot with my HMC in 720p/60 or 1080i/60, and then I log and Transfer into FCP its showing the item properties as being 29.97. At first i thought, hmm maybe it's just some default display but my clip is actually 60fps. However I further got confused when I coformed in cinema tools down to 24p to try slow-mo and it barely slowed, (clip went from about 1:02 to 1:18), just looked like a 30fps - > 24fps. Is there something I'm doing wrong in the log and transfer? A setting I'm messing up?

Well the 60i stuff won't give y ou slow-motion through cinematools or in FCP. You need to shoot 720/60p in that.. Not sure why you are having this.. excapt that you are probably on an older FCP. The one before this latest was highly buggy and doing all this kind of stuff to my footie... but the 6.0.5 one is good to go.

Nope im on 6.0.5, I've been trying 720/60p as well, no go =/. I'll keep fiddling with it however. I'm in no immediate need but its a nice thing to know and play around with.

Btw Justyn, random but FL related, how has the weather been up there for you lately? I just got my HMC150 and the weather has gone to crap, keeping me to test this thing inside, horrible lighting =/, Wish I could try it out in a nice sunny florida day.

Weather is awesome... Really nice day today. Where are you? Man you are missing some fabulous SUN. It was almost too damn hot yesterday... You'll have no problem pulling a 1/2000 shutter today.

ya today weather is nice, been crappy past couple days though, only problem is I work all day =/ get off 9:30 so no use, but if saturday is nice believe me I'm filming something, probably just random nature but who cares. I'm down in Coral Springs, near Fort Lauderdale.

By chance do you have the remove pulldown checked in the preferences section of the Log and Transfer window when ingesting?

nope. i figured out the issue I think though, kinda. It shows 60p when i shoot 720/60p just not when i do 1080i/60
