FCP import issue

I'm using FCP 5.1.4. I'm on a Mac G5.OSX 10.4.9. For some reason my P2 viewer window isn't working on this new project. The thumbnails show but the clips won't play and I can not import.

I did recently update Quicktime. That doesn't seem to be an issue because I opened another project and the P2 import window works fine.

I did rent a P2 Store for this shoot and I dropped everything on a drive (Rocstar 320gb).

I've used the P2 Store at least 25 times now and I've done the same routine with storing the files making sure to have both contents and lastclip and not change names on any of it. This is the first time I have encountered this.

I'm think either the Quicktime update did something or maybe I didn't notice that the P2 Store was set up for PC ?? During the shoot I did fill the P2 Store a few times and I did dump the files to an external drive (same drive) through my G4 laptop which has the proper P2 drivers. I have done this same routine many times before and really the only thing I can think is that maybe the P2 Store was not in Mac mode? How can I convert the files to Mac mode? Or maybe it's something completely different?!

I can open, play, and export through P2 Log.....that would take days to export everything !

Any suggestions would make my week.

Thanks!!!

well I went to the Apple discussion board and found this :
"Often in upgrading the OS, QT or FCP for some odd reason QT will get knocked slightly off kilter. The usual solution it to force a full reinstall of QT.

This is how:

Go to /library/receipts and delete any files that say Quicktime followed by a number e.g. Quicktime703.pkg

Go to the Apple quicktime site and download the appropriate version of Quicktime to your hard drive.

Run the Quicktime installer.

Reboot

Repair Disk Permissions for your System Disk (Disk Utility > Select the system disk > Repair Disk Permissions)

Good luck.

I did this and it didn't work so I'm guessing my problem is with the P2 files.

Anyone know the correct procedure to "repair" or switch these files so that I can use them in the FCP P2 viewer window?
