I am trying to find the best way to export out of FCP 5 video that was shot 1080 60 on the hvx200. Final output will be to an SD DVD. How can I get the best picture quality out on an SD DVD?
The 'best' quality? Output to HDCam and take that to a place that will do hardware encoding for you. That will give you the best results.
Otherwise, pick a intense part of the movie, something with both camera and actor movements going on at the same time. Just a minute or so will do fine. Then start playing around w/ that stuff with compressor. You will have to decide what you consider acceptable or not there. I haven't done a long compression doing so, but a few like umm I think 20 min range ones and Compressor has held up fairly well for me. I just use the 90 min best quality encode preset basically (with a few minor tweaks as I feel is required).
