FCP and HMC150 footage

Hi all,

Can someone help me out?

I have HMC150 footage and need to edit it in FCP 6.

Just importing the vid files doesn't work. Can't select the m2ts files.

How to do it?

The files I got from the SDHC cards are in a folder AVCCAMVIEWER and after selecting the project I get 2 new folders MISC and PRIVATE (and so on...).

Is there perhaps a good and clear thread on this topic?

Thanks

How to transfer HMC 150 footage to FCP

hoose our Easy Setup for the format you shot. Set your Scratch Disl Location. Connect the camera via USB or plug the SDHC card into our computer. Go to FIle>Log and Transfer. Your files will show up in teh upper left-hand window. Drag them (no more than 10 at one time) into the lower left-hand window. They will import and be transcoded to ProRes automatically. The ready clips will appear in your FCP Browser Window. Watch this YouTube video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4dd-tAosHY&feature=youtube_gdata

Firstly, FCP needs to be updated to the latest (6.0.6?) to work with AVCHD footage via the log and transfer window. If you have not already updated it - do so via the Apple software update on your mac.

Next, don't try to import the files themselves. You point FCP at the PRIVATE folder on the card, or if you copied the card to your HDD you should copy EVERYTHING (including the entire folder structure), and point FCP to the place on the HDD where the PRIVATE folder now sits.

Use Log & Transfer to import the footage. FCP will show you al the clips on the card and allow you to select which clips you want to import (you can also set in/out points and import partial clips too). FCP will import and transcode from AVCHD to ProRes 422 to make it easy to edit.

It's also my understanding, and some one can verify this, that FCP only L/T with footage shot by the 150 in the PH mode.
