Favourite Sci-Fi movie!

[Michael Anthony Horrigan]

The question isn't what you think the best Science Fiction film is.
It's what your favourite Sci-Fi flick is. Maybe even a guilty pleasure.
The one you can watch over and over again.

For me it's The Fifth Element.

I never grow tired of it.

That's a hard one for me...

I'm going with The Matrix. Great action, solid plot, just overall well-done.

[David Jimerson]

I guess it depends on the boundaries of the definition of "sci-fi."

Ghostbusters is simply my favorite film. I always considered it sci-fi.

That's a good one. Some people call Star Wars Fantasy. We won't be picky about what is and isn't Sci-Fi.

Am I the only one seeing an image with the words IMPAWARDS.COM on it?

Dude, it's Blaine's favorite. Just because you don't like IMPAWARDS, does not invalidate his choice.

[Blaine]

Let me try again.

[Michael Anthony Horrigan]

That's funny! I was going to go with Blade Runner. I just found it too depressing to watch multiple times a year. I totally agree with your choice though. I was torn over that one.

I still try to watch it at least once a year though. I'm also a fan of the original theatrical release. Even though Ridley Scott isn't.

There are too many I love to put any higher than the other. They are 2001, Close Encounters, Alien, Blade Runner, The Thing, E.T. and The Matrix. Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back are fantasy films in sci-fi drag, but hey, if we're being loose, I'd have to include them.

I also like it. I kept my VHS copy of the theatrical release until I got the 5 disc Ultimate Collector's Edition on DVD.

(My second choice is ALIENS.)

[spidey]

Toss ups

Blade runner, Minority Report, Total Recall Alien 3

Runner ups

Predator, Aliens, Alien, Empire strikes back

Make it tough on yourself. Choose one. I know it's hard. rogar-Love(DBG):

It's a sci-fi/horror mix, but my favorite would have to be The Thing (1982).

[smelni]

I would say "the Abyss" - for some reason I just always loved that film

Pick one.

That's what I'm saying, I can't...I will add I forgot Galaxy Quest, which is as close as I'll come to a guilty pleasure.

[ZazaCast]

... I guess ...at the moment ....it would have to be ...O2!

Fine, I'll accept Galaxy Quest as your pick.

Ghostbusters Scifi ? Hmmm.

This is a hard one.

Probably Star Wars ?

The Thing ranks pretty high up there for me.

Blade Runner is a stellar vision into the future.

The Fith Element is so much fun.

Aliens. Now Aliens is superb.

Close Encounters.

I have to go with Close Encounters.
