Favourite Sci-Fi movie!

Dark City is definitely my fav, I didn't realize that the directors cut was out. I will have to get it as soon as possible. I watch it at least 4 or 5 times a year.

12 monkeys is a close second, however, and is the very first movie I like Brad Pitt in, actually I think there is a very good chance that it is the best work he will ever do. "Five thousand dollars!!!!"

Serenity and Bladerunner tie up third for me, the writing for Serenity is absolutely spot on!

Ah, nice picks! Same top 3 as me. Although if you're doing ties it's Gattaca and 12 Monkeys for my third place spot. :)

Serenity was a pretty cool movie but I completely missed out on the Firefly mania never having seen a single episode. So I don't think I was the intended audience.
 
I think SCIFI for me has defintion of exisiting in our world or a plausible world. Like STAR WARS feels more like Fantasy as it is a world that does not exist and is entirely created. Whether in the future, past or present, I need my Science Fiction to exist with a sense of my reality.

My problem with Serenity was, compared to the show, the writing was awful. They tried to do WAY too much in too little time. If you think the movie was at least watchable, you should check out the show. Serenity is basically a pale shadow of the show.

Yes, after watching the movie I watched all the episodes in the order intended by the writers, not the order shown on t.v. By far and above my favorite T.V. series ever.

Not only was it not that good, but Scifi ? Horror if anything, PG-13 Horror, but still horror.

I enjoyed these films, but Sci Fi ? They're just Superhero films.
