GH2 fast run'n'gun zoom (around f2.8) for gh2 in 4/3 or ETC mode (any more options?)

I think there is a market for faster m43 zoom. Many have bought Oly 43, Panny 43, Tamron, Tokina fast zooms, right? At this point Panasonic needs to step up and show the world that M43 has the lens size advantage over their competitors. NEX5 can take pretty good photo at high ISO because of the bigger sensor advantage, but their E mount kit zoom is slow and huge. 12-50 2.5-3.3 will convince many NEX users convert to M43.

The fast zoom isn't so much for shallow DOF. For being able to use indoor events. Yes consumer need driven.

got lucky, had an opportunity. well, actually it should have been around 500$ but it had some slow AF behavior i got 50% off (i personally don't need AF)
look at every photo forum for sells... indeed, ebay has mostly the mint 1K$ ones.

Roei - I was looking at that lens but saw some reports of pretty mega focus breathing (eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjC78UHv47w)

Are you getting that? And does it happen with AF or MF or both?

that's something i can't understand either. Not that the pro and consumer divisions are two different worlds,
but how come they develop a pro 4/3 camera without thinking to develop pro lens for a new standard?
Ok, there are some options from other companies, but for example when Sony started to do still digital
cameras, they did lens too, both consumer and professional. That's what I mean.

...Those two wouldn't have anything to do with each other. The AF100 (and any future AF200) come from the pro division, the lenses come from the consumer company. I know some people don't quite get it when I say this, but -- they're two separate companies. I've visited the broadcast division factory in Osaka -- the consumer company is nowhere to be seen. They're a totally different entity. Panasonic Consumer Electronics has about as much in common with Panasonic Broadcast, as the Panasonic Rice Cooker division does.

If a new lens is going to be introduced with a new camera, you can bet it would be a G-series consumer camera...

Panasonic pro doesn't make lenses and they never have. They've always relied on Canon and Fujinon to provide lenses.

Ok, I understand now. I come from still photography and that's something I'm not used to.
Thank you for your reply.
