Most of the stuff I shoot I can't post, but this piece I did a little over a month ago just popped up on YouTube. It's a fashion commercial for designer Maggie Barry to promote her material at LA's fashion week.

Nice vid man, really nice stuff

If you don't mind, what is the song in the background?

EDIT: JES? No way... that guy was trance I thought :-O

Thanks! Not really sure about the music, I wasn't involved with the post process at all. I'll try and find out for you, though!

Here's another promo vid I shot for another designer for fashion week, as well. Paulie is a newer designer, and this piece is far more docu-style than the other. Shot pretty much the whole thing with 24-105 L IS. I may have used the 85mm f/1.2 on the interview, but then again, maybe I didn't. I remember being really pressed for time to get that interview done, so I probably just left the 24-105 on the whole time.

I swear, I use that lens more than any other. Not that it's the best lens out there, but it's just so damn versatile.

Anyway, here's the vid:

Nice video Brian! I like the cuts ... bada-bam! Man it sure is a world away from rural Guatemala where I live (and work)!

Thanks Brian for the post, and the answer on the glass used. Just back from on the road finishing my first shoot after switching to the C300.

Were you handheld for most of these shoots? I imagine the interview was locked down. I heard the C300 is way better handheld than the DSLRs - aka Does it "feel" good? Like the camera this site is named after, I always thought the DVX was a natural extension of my arm when it came to handheld. HVX no so much. 7D ... no way. HPX170 Yes. How about this C300?
thanks.

Handheld for everything but the interview and opening of the 2nd piece. In the first piece, it's a combination of handheld, sticks & mini-jib. The camera certainly feels very natural handheld, easily the best large-sensor camera to be used that way (especially when stripped down to nothing but body and side handle). But it doesn't click for everybody. Try one out if you can.
