Fair Price For Sigma 30 1.4?

Used

I should clarify the guy I am meeting to trade/buy the 17-55 2.8IS also has this lens. I would normally get the canon 28 1.8 instead, but if the price is right and it is a good copy.. Won't lose any money when I sell it later.

I'd say it's a little high. The Sigma is $429 brand new from most dealers. I'd rather just pay a little more and have a new one at that price. Maybe you can talk him into some sort of package deal.

If it's in good condition that sounds like a fair price to me.
Lenses really don't drop in value all that much, especially fast lenses.

Then again I may just be saying that because I have the Sigma 30mm 1.4
:)

I just checked Ebay for you, and there are 5 completed listings which sold for an average price of $344.80.
Lowest selling price was $310, highest was $375.
The other three were all around 340-350.

Hope that helps.

Overstock has the lens for $429. If you use a 10% off coupon (USPS moving coupon) + $1 shipping it's $387

So $37 off to get a used one? I'd pass.

BTW Thanks a lot... this post cost me $387.

I just picked up this lens for $310 and it is a great copy! The guy didn't use it very much and bought it new. It is in perfect shape and focus is accurate. I would say that the af at longer distances is less accurate at f1.4. It is sharper than I expected. Great Day!
