OMG WTF a client has asked about Facebook live..

Im guessing this is a live stream format.

Any ideas how to do this with the FS7 (or GH4 or EX1)

I guess options..
1) tecthered to a laptop
2) free roaming (ideal)

You need wirecast to stream it out and an atem to connect your FS7 to computer.

You could try an ultra studio mini recorder https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/ultrastudio (about 120 GBP) That takes HDMI and will stream to a laptop (thunderbolt) , I use this with OBS software to add titles etc. This is an inexpensive start point. Though it does mean you are tethered and ideally want a second person monitoring the laptop.

The option from live.tv looks great (other than being 14 times more expensive) and requiring a[n expensive] 4G stream that can handle large amounts of uploaded data. I would love to have that kit but it depends how much income you are going to get from live streaming.

Things on the FB side are more setup for people streaming video from their phones.

Lots of delays, stuttering, etc., especially when you are relying on cell service as your carrier.

That's why we bought the LiveU backpack for our events at work.

A few months back I was doing a behind-the-scenes for a (Viacom) period tv series, and their social media people were there getting ready to do a livestream of the actors I was interviewing - from some i-Phone frankenrig. They saw that I was using a macbook pro as a client monitor (connected to the camera via a Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder thunderbolt adapter) and got all excited.
Long story short...
They ended up dumping their rig, piggybacking some of my camera's interviews and feeding them live onto Facebook (they installed OBS and SiphonInject on my computer - I think they were both free installs) and the livestream went off without a hitch.
If you already have the computer, the UltraStudio Minirecorder was only about $135 (plus a thunderbolt cable) - and as I mentioned I think the software was free...

One interesting thing is I have my wireless transmitter (HDMI Animon)

In my studio getting stuff onto my computer 'live' would be great because then I could (maybe) check shots, add luts etc and give my clients a better 'in studio' experience

When one uses a device like this what happens..

does it 'pop up' like the inbuilt web cam

one can then 'broadcast' that?

one can then record (or not) that .. I say or not because I may not want to fill my HD with trash!

Im seeing an 'offer' where someone has a laptop and I plug my dongle (HDMI receiver and mini recorder) in giving the client the ability to ping that out as per their abilities, web connection et al.

So I delivery to thier computer, they are resonsible for connectivity?

FYI the reason I didn't google/yt is because I thought this would need the fs7 wifi box hence posting in the fs7 forum :)

I note no one has mentioned that.. Fair enough it's obviously not needed

fair enough, besides for google (and youtube) you have to know what you are looking for or you get swamped with non-relevant stuff and often taken off on a tangent. It becomes useful once you know what to look for and the appropriate search terms.
